Hello and welcome to my website.

My name is David Abramson, I am known as Lifter or Lifter4Him on the various knife websites and forums.

I have been making knife sheaths for the past 6 years. What began as a quest to make a sheath for myself quickly turned into a hobby business when friends saw that sheath and wanted sheaths for themselves.

My sheaths are all entirely made by hand, including the stitching, I do not own a sewing machine. Usually folders are made from 6/7 oz or 5/6 oz leather depending on their size and weight. Fixed blade sheaths are made from 8/9 oz leather unless otherwise requested. Sheaths are wet molded from the best quality leather I can find and are molded to shape using my hands and a bone folder. Sheathmaking is not my full time occupation, I work full time also, so I ask your patience when ordering. Usually sheaths are delivered within 2-4 weeks.

The idea of a custom sheath is that it is made the way you want it so dont be afraid to ask questions and make suggestions.

Personal info:

I have been married to my wonderful wife and best friend since 1979, and we have 2 sons, Shawn(a real estate broker) and Michael(an attorney). I grew up in the Bronx,NYC and currently reside in NJ. There is nothing more important in my life than God, family, and friends.

I have been employed at a large NYC newspaper as a photoengraver/supervisor since 1988 and have been a photoengraver since 1978.

I have competed in the sport of powerlifting since 1980 and by the Grace of God was fortunate to have won the 1995 IPA Powerlifting World Championship in the 275 lb. weight class. I have also won 3 National Championships as well as been NJ State Champion 9 times and Tri-State Champion 4 times.

I have a discussion forum on www.usualsuspect.net (the best knife discussion website on the net!) and invite you to join us. It is free but you must sign up to read and participate.

Thanks and please ask any questions you may have,

Dave
